Chillagoe to Georgetown

Started the morning with pancakes which was a bit of a disaster as they kept sticking to the frypan so if anyone has any tips on how to fry on a stainless pan I would love to hear them!  A week ago, I had no trouble cooking pancakes in it but today was a different story.

We had a look at some old state copper smelters then went on a couple of cave tours.  The caves were really interesting apart from a ton of kids on the first one and a screaming baby on the second one, oh wait, the screaming baby was ours!  Lots of stairs and tight spots to get through.

After yet another burger for lunch we parted ways with John & Lorna. They have already done what we have planned for the rest of the trip.

We headed to Georgetown –  the trip was uneventful apart from the many BIG dips and grids in the road, I’m sure Graham had the truck airborne over one grid, I know I was lifted from my seat.  A few choice words were said to ‘the driver’ about slowing down and he should know better considering he’s always telling me ‘that’s how you break things’ when I’m driving.  Tonight we are staying at the Goldfields Caravan park in Georgetown and actually got to sit down and relax for a bit which made a nice change.  Tomorrow we head for Croydon and Normanton.
