Another very hot day! We were packed up and gone from Palmer River Roadhouse by 8.50am, an easy day ahead for us. Drove to Mareeba where we purchased supplies and refuelled then headed for Chillagoe. Stopped at Dimbulah for lunch at the ‘Funky Mango’. Didn’t expect much but the food turned out to be delicious and the burgers HUGE! (Toasted sandwich for me, I’m over burgers) We had mostly bitumen roads today so was easy going and hopefully we didn’t get much more dust in the camper! One more bit of damage today when the spare tyre carrier didn’t get closed and bent the stone guard on the camper. We arrived at Chillagoe and booked our cave tours for tomorrow. Finally setting up camp at a reasonable time so Jacob & I went for a swim but the water was freezing so we got straight back out :(. The Chillagoe Tourist Park where we stayed had great showers except for the timer on the lights which goes off before you have time to complete a quick shower so it pays to take your own light with you so you don’t get caught out!
