Bramwell to Punsand Bay

After refueling at Bramwell Junction we headed north on Bamaga Road, a wide gravel road with areas of corrugation that weren’t as bad as we had expected, apart from a few screws falling out of the dash we were all good. We stopped at Fruit Bat Falls which was a fantastic spot for a swim, one of the highlights of the trip.  Jacob didn’t mind the water which was a bit of a change as he seems to of been hating swimming lessons these last couple of months (maybe he doesn’t like the cold).  After some lunch we continued on Bamaga Road heading for the tip, blew $145.00 on a ferry trip across the Jardine River which took only seconds to cross.  We arrived at Punsand Bay late afternoon and set up camp overlooking the water.  It was a very nice view however you can’t swim in the water so really it was a big tease!  Most of us went over to the caravan park’s bar for pizza for dinner which was delicious and Jacob got to try it (pizza) for the first time.
