Thursday Island

The ferry for Thursday Island leaves from Seisia so we had to be very organised this morning.  It was about an hours ferry ride to the Island.  We had decided to explore on our own so on arrival we started walking, lucky Jacob was in a stroller.  It was hot, very hot and the things we had been told that were worth looking at were up hill.  So we got plenty of exercise today and were all quite exhausted from the heat at the end of the day.  Up at the Green Hill Fort, my hat blew off and Lorna took off after it, lucky for me she eventually caught it but I had been worried as from where I was standing it looked like there could be a cliff in the direction she was chasing my hat!  Later I paid it forward by running after Grahams hat but that was in the township, I had to chase it down a road in front of a heap of road workers, wouldn’t of been pretty!  We had lunch at one of the local pubs then a look in a couple of shops then started walking towards another tourist attraction when Graham and I decided to find some shade instead.  Then Lorna and Julie decided to throw the towel in and went shopping, we all met up again near the ferry.
